Let your child experience the fun of camping without being far from home! The children will start the week by making their own “Gone Camping” t-shirt out of a used shirt that they can bring in. They will create a collage of a camping scene, paint campfire rocks, build and decorate an art “oar”, paint an outdoor scene and many more fun art projects. We will incorporate learning art skills along with the projects. It will be a week chock full of creativity!

A full time resident of Manchester, Kate moved to Manchester with her husband, Doug, in July of 2015., from St. Louis, Missouri. Kate grew up in New York, and went to college in New England, graduating from Wheaton College in Massachusetts with a B.A. in Art History. She then went on to study fine art at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Kate has been painting and teaching art privately and in school programs to adults and children for many years, and brings her energy and excitement for art to beautiful Southern Vermont.

As an oil painter, Kate specializes in landscapes that suggest the grandeur of nature. Her impressionist style and rich colors invite the viewer to walk into the scene. She enjoys painting landscapes of places that she has traveled to, as well as local gardens, pastoral scenes, and still life. Kate feels that her personal experiences, coupled with her artistic vision, evoke the true spirit of the countryside represented in her paintings.

Kate’s artwork constantly brings one into the painting, tempting one to explore beyond the path, making one want to visit, again and again.
