All Levels Welcome (Beginner-Advanced)
Learn to create a keen sense of mood in the landscape by limiting tonal range and color, softening edges and simplifying the amount of shapes and detail. This way of painting is often described as poetic, nostalgic or dreamlike. Monet, Whistler and others successfully employed this style and so can you! We’ll explore several ways to achieve this soft pastel painting technique, learning a great deal about controlling form and color in a composition while creating lovely, evocative images from your photos. It’s lots of fun and has limitless potential. Demonstration, exercises, helpful critique and lots of painting time. All levels are welcome from beginner through advanced.
