About Rebecca Raymond:
Rebecca has been the visual arts teacher for the Manchester Elementary Middle School for 28 years. A native of Massachusetts, she helped develop the Art PARTnership Program at the Worcester Art Museum. Her artistic training began at Framingham State College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She received her master’s degree from Anna Maria College and Art New England at Bennington College, where she worked closely with the well
known watercolorist Patricia Forrester. She has also trained with Salton Szabo at Southern
Vermont Arts Center.

Rebecca works primarily in watercolor, and she developed a love for this medium after many years of training as a visual artist. The versatility and spontaneity of the watercolor medium are reflective of her artistic style and character. “Creating in watercolor is like a controlled accident,” according to Rebecca. “You never really know how the pigments are going to react to water on paper. One has to be flexible and learn to work with whatever happens. Working through these perplexities is what makes watercolors the most exciting medium.”
