Early childhood music continues! New and returning students are welcome. This music class is designed for children from birth through four years old and a caregiver. We will sing, play, and grow together while we work on early communication skills, tonal and rhythm skills. And don’t let the fun stop at the end of class! Caregivers will also learn how to keep the music going to help develop your child’s music skills at home! We can’t wait to make music with you and kiddos!
Carolyn Exler has been teaching Early Childhood Music (ECM) for over 10 years and is very excited to return to SVAC for her second year of this program! She holds a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University (MSU) and a Master of Music from Western Michigan University. Carolyn has taught at the MSU Community Music School, The Flint Institute for Performing Arts, Gunma Kokusai Academy (in Ota, Gunma, Japan) and Randolph Elementary School. While at MSU, she studied under Dr. Cynthia Taggart, co-author of “Music Play: The Early Childhood Music Curriculum” which is the curriculum Carolyn uses as a base for her ECM classes.
