In this camp, girls will gain confidence by creating their own theatre “world” as a group! Campers will play theatre games and learn improvisation, finding laughter at every turn. They will work on short monologues of their choice (or provided by the instructor). They may even bring in a song they’d like to rehearse for fun (a-cappella). Students will learn about the strong female characters of Shakespeare.
They will play and work at stations, including Free-Draw, Clay, and Props ‘n’ Costumes. Instructor encourages students’ own unique imaginations and creativity. Students also gain confidence through specific physical & vocal warm-ups. Instructor provides a fun, “no right or wrong,” atmosphere. Camp is based on the curriculum from Spolin Theatre Games for the Classroom by Viola Spolin.
The instructor is an experienced coach & professional actress who finds the unique quality in every student. Girls World Theatre Camp’s fun and easy environment puts every girl at ease and allows them to express her own unique “voice” while also learning the power and value of working in a group.
