Monday, July 5 – Friday, July 16, 2021 (two weeks)
8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
$180 – $200 per week. Limited scholarships are available.
This day camp will blend art, science, and imagination into one unforgettable summer experience for ages 5 – 12.
Spend one week at the Southern Vermont Arts Center and another at the Manchester Rec Park exploring all things SPACE! We’ll learn about our neighboring planets and distant galaxies, imagine living on other worlds, model our solar system, design alien life, build rockets and experiment with gliders, prepare for life in zero gravity at the Rec Park pool, create Space shelters, do Space scavenger hunts and more! Camp at SVAC will be led by artist, teacher, shepherd and pilot Andrea Myklebust. The Rec Park Summer Camp counselors and special guests will lead activities at the Rec.
Space camp is two weeks long, for everyone. Week One is July 5 – 9. Younger astronauts are at SVAC this week, and older campers are at the Rec Park. Week Two is July 12 – 16, and we switch: older campers are at SVAC and younger campers are at the Rec. On the last day of camp, a rocket launch event takes place with everyone together at the Rec Park.
Covid protocols will be in place. Limited scholarships available. Please contact Erin Kaufman at 802-367-1306 or ekaufman@svac.org for more information.
